Personal Career Coaching Intensive
Starting your career can feel overwhelming with so many questions:
- What career should I pursue?
- When should I start applying for internships?
- How do I stand out?
- How do I network? What's LinkedIn?
- How many jobs should I be applying to?
- Why aren't companies getting back to me?
It’s normal to feel unsure or even embarrassed to ask seemingly basic questions. That's why our programs begin with a personal career coaching intensive. Think of this as your personal bootcamp designed to answer these questions, get you on track, and help you confidently navigate the job search process.
WHY DO I NEED CAREER COACHING?
Do you have professors to teach you Calculus, Biology, and any other class you're taking?
Did you have a coach when you played [fill in the sport]?
Did you have a counselor when you applied to college?
So, why not a career coach to help you navigate your transition into a career, perhaps the most important transition to date for you?
WHAT WILL I DO DURING A CAREER COACHING INTENSIVE?
In short, a lot! During personal career coaching intensive, you will build the foundation to get your career search off to a strong start.
- Clarify your career goals
- Access resources to get smart about how to manage your career search.
- Participate in coaching sessions to get personalized guidance for YOU.
- Participate in small group sessions with industry experts to explore different careers.
- Craft and strengthen the materials that you'll need in your toolkit to find an internship or your first job (e.g., resume, LinkedIn profile).
- Meet with LiftHERs (mentor) through our Career Cafe to network and learn from their experiences.
- Join our Community Forum to be part of a community there to support you.

What is CareerCafe?
A unique feature of our program is CareerCafe — a relaxed virtual space where you can connect with our LiftHER mentors, a vetted network of professionals eager to share their insights. These are casual informational interviews to explore your field, meet industry professionals, and learn from their journeys.
We know how frustrating it can be to send countless LinkedIn requests without responses. Our LiftHERs have committed to generously sharing their time and expertise to help you kickstart your career. We connect you and help you prepare for a meaningful chat.
How Career Cafe Works
When you join CareerCafe, we work with you to develop a strategic networking plan that includes access to CareerCafe. All CareerCafe participants are required to complete our Networking 101 workshop to ensure you're ready to maximize these networking opportunities with LiftHERs and others beyond our network. Think of this us teaching you how to network and giving you a sandbox to practice in.
Once you get access to CareerCafe, the process is super easy.
Step 1: Weekly or Monthly Matches
Each week or month (depending on your membership), you'll receive three LiftHER profiles tailored to your interests and career stage. If you prefer to skip a week or month, just inform your coach.
Step 2: Select a Match
Choose one LiftHER to meet and share your discussion topics. We’ll confirm the meeting and send you a calendar invite.
Step 3: Meet Your LiftHER
Join the meeting at the scheduled time. While these conversations are casual, they remain professional, so arrive on time, dress appropriately, and be respectful. If you need to reschedule, notify us ASAP. Ghosting is not tolerated.
Step 4: Repeat
The process repeats each week or month.
Selected Companies Our LiftHERs Are Associated with
scholarships
We believe every student deserves access to high-quality career guidance and the support necessary to launch a successful career. To help make this a reality, we are offering a limited number of scholarships to students who demonstrate financial need (e.g., receiving a Pell Grant or on a need-based scholarship) to help offset the cost of LiftHER Career’s programs by 80%.
In addition, our LiftHERs may contribute to this initiative by offering virtual career chats, expanding the impact of this scholarship fund and broadening access to critical career coaching for deserving young women.
Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
