It’s normal to feel unsure or even embarrassed to ask seemingly basic questions when trying to find your first job. That's why our programs begin with a personalized career coaching intensive designed to answer these questions, get you on track, and help you confidently navigate the job search process.
WHY DO I NEED A CAREER COACH?
Do you have professors to teach you Calculus, Biology, and any other class you're taking?
Did you have a coach when you played [fill in the sport]?
Did you have a counselor when you applied to college?
So, why not a career coach to help you navigate your transition into a career, perhaps the most important transition to date for you?
WHAT WILL I DO DURING CAREER COACHING?
A LOT! But most importantly, you will build the foundation to get your career search off to a strong start. We work together to customize a plan specifically for YOU based on where you are with your job search. You can expect to:
- Clarify your career goals.
- Access resources to get smart about how to manage your job search.
- Participate in coaching sessions to get personalized guidance for YOU.
- Craft and strengthen the materials that you'll need in your toolkit to find an internship or your first job (e.g., resume, LinkedIn profile).
- Meet with LiftHERs (mentor) through our Career Cafe to network and learn from their experiences.
- Get referrals for job opportunities that are a fit for you.
- Prepare for interviews so you can impress interviewers and secure that job offer.
- Explore ways to build experience even as you're looking for that first opportunity.
WHAT MAKES LIFTHER CAREER DIFFERENT?
We are not just career coaches, we are career launchers. You get career coaching, but you also get connections.
We are big on networking. We teach out how to network and introduce you to our network of LiftHERs (mentors) so you can learn from their experiences and start to build your professional network. We call these CareerCafe chats.
Beyond coaching, we refer you for open job opportunities with our network of employer partners, if there's a fit.

What is CareerCafe?
A unique feature of our program is CareerCafe — a relaxed virtual space where you can connect with our LiftHER mentors, a vetted network of professionals eager to share their insights. These are casual informational interviews to explore your field, meet industry professionals, and learn from their journeys.
We know how frustrating it can be to send countless LinkedIn requests without responses. Our LiftHERs have committed to generously sharing their time and expertise to help you kickstart your career. We connect you and help you prepare for a meaningful chat.

Scholarships
We believe every student deserves access to high-quality career guidance and the support necessary to launch a successful career. To help make this a reality, we are offering a limited number of scholarships to students who demonstrate financial need (e.g., receiving a Pell Grant or on a need-based scholarship) to help offset the cost of LiftHER Career’s programs by 50%.
Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
